OUR STORY

THE ANDRING FAMILY AND POAS

Berry Sweet Acres is a new breeding program to POA located in southeastern MN, but the Andring family is not new to POA. Melissa and her daughters, Libby and Sophie have been showing POA since 2009 under the previous farm name, Easy Money Ranch.

Melissa plans to continue showing Dutch Country this season while adding some new challenges and new classes to her repertoire. Melissa has also started Berry Sweet Perfection under saddle and hopes to get her to a few POA shows to hit the open classes.  Lastly will be Berry Sweet Shenanigans in her show debut in the yearling in hand classes. Sophie is hoping to bring Berry Sweet Endeavor out towards the end of the season for the futurity held in Gordyville, IL in September.

Berry Sweet Acres had two amazing fillies in 2024 by 2 different stallions. Those foals carry the bloodlines of The Silver Kid, RY Major Equity, Docs Ruff N Tough, CR Star Kid, and RPRs Impulsive Superman and our available on our prospects page. Both will be assets to any show or breeding program.

Our goal continues to be to produce a top notch pleasure pony with the best dispositions for kids and adults alike. Your Berry Sweet pony will take you to the winner's circle!

ABOUT BERRY SWEET ACRES

What is a POA you ask?  Many people would say that the POA is a color breed.  While color is important to the POA, there is so much more to this great breed than just Appaloosa coloring.  These ponies are bred to be a versatile pony for the whole family.  In addition to that striking color, POAs are bred to do ranch events, pleasure, jumping, games/gymkhana, halter, trail ride, drive a cart.... pretty much every equine event you can think of, the POA can excel at it.

Though they may be slightly smaller in height, a POAs height limit is 14 hands, they make up for height with heart. We've had a lot of experience with these ponies and have never seen a breed that is more trainable and adaptable than our POAs.  We have chosen mares and crossed them with stallions with disposition and trainability as some of our biggest priorities.  We hope to match you and your family with a pony that will fit whatever need you are looking for.  Our goal is a happy home for rider and pony.

We aren't just ponies...

We aren't just ponies here at Berry Sweet Acres.  A visit to our farm will have you greeted by our Aussies, our flock of barnyard chickens, a few ducks in the pond and a few fuzzy felines.  Stay awhile, make some new friends, and take some farm fresh eggs when you go.
